The Cule from Măldărești
The Culele de la Măldărești represent a unique ensemble of traditional fortified architecture, specific to Oltenia. They are located in Măldărești commune, approximately 45 minutes from Râmnicu Vâlcea, easily accessible by car. They can be visited all year round, for a modest fee.

The Culele de la Măldărești are among the best-preserved traditional fortified constructions in Romania. They reflect the life of the Oltenian boyars from the 18th–19th centuries and the defensive role of these buildings during a period marked by instability.

-Route: DN67 → DJ646
Public transport: -minibuses to Horezu, then taxi
